Take the road from the city of Huesca in the direction of Apiés until you reach Sta. Eulalia de la Peña. You will reach the car park at the foot of the crag called Peña San Miguel, where there is an information board indicating the routes that can be taken in the area. Even there you will begin to spot small species between the boxwood trees, such as black redstarts, African stonechats, warblers and leaf warblers, among others.
Take the small trail leading to the south face of Peña San Miguel. From there you can observe griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, short-toed eagles, booted eagles and a colony of red-billed choughs, besides a spectacular view of the Hoya de Huesca district.
March is an easy month to spot cranes flying to their breeding grounds after wintering on the Iberian Peninsula.
